What you should see
On a what-is-my-IP page, the VPN line says yes and names the provider when the address is on a known VPN list. The IP location pin sits on the VPN server's area.
A possible original IP
A working VPN does not hand out the home address. The page still checks the browser. If another public IP appears, it is labeled as a possible original IP. If nothing else appears, the address in the box is the only one sites can see. More detail is on the VPN check page.
